Draper, Utah Temple

My family and I had the opportunity to go to the open house of the new Draper, Utah Temple. What an amazing experience that was to not only walk through the House of the Lord, but to be there together with my little family. This is the first time we've been inside a temple together. It was so peaceful and "right." My daughters, ages 12, 10 and 8, were awe struck and commented afterwards how strongly they could feel the Spirit while there. My 8 year old wished she could take one of the "sparklies" from the chandelier as a souvenir. I had to remind her that it is Heavenly Father's chandelier... LOL

I look forward to the day when I can be at the temple with my family after it has been dedicated. It is probably several years away, but I dream of the day it will happen.

We are so blessed to have temples on the earth today. It has been a while since I've gone to the temple, and I was reminded at how peaceful and calming they are. With all the stress I've been feeling in my life, I don't know why my first thought wasn't to go to the temple, lose myself in the service, and feel of the peace that is promised to those who attend.

I'm thankful to live where I do, where I can travel to several temples all within the space of an hour. Now, I just need to partake of those blessings more often. Maybe I can work that into my Resolution for the year....
