Generally by this time of year, school would already be in session (for at least 2/3 of my children). I loved the year-round schedule. But with only two now in middle school, having the district change to a traditional schedule in the elementary school was of no big consequence. Only Squeakers remains, and while she's disappointed that she won't get any off-track time alone with Mommy and Daddy (and perhaps a quick jaunt to Disneyland) while her older sisters are in school, she'll learn to cope. So, now all three are on the same schedule and school starts tomorrow. It's not a day too soon!
The house is going to be so blissfully quiet. There will be no whining, no fighting, no screaming. The TV will remain on shows I want to watch and I won't be subjected to PBS or Qubo at all hours. No more declarations of "I'm bored" fifty times a day. Summer has never seemed so long...
Don't get me wrong. I seriously love my children and for the most part they are lovely, well-behaved children. But, for my sanity and well-being, they need to GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!
Starting tomorrow they will be receiving 6 hours of structure and education, and I will be receiving 6 hours of quiet vacation (with a clean house, no less!). Let the good times roll!!
